AMERICAN SAMOA, lying in the South Pacific, is made up of 7 islands, 5 of which are volcanic in origin, and 2 coral atolls.

The capital Pago Pago, is situated on Tutuila, the largest island, and is a crater of an extinct volcano. It has a cable car ride offering breath-taking views of the harbour.

The Eastern end of Tutuila has a coastline of white, sandy beaches.

Cruises around the islands are available.

The climate is tropical, with the rainy season from December to April.
