CAPE VERDE is situated in the Atlantic Ocean, off the Northwest coast of Africa, and comprises ten volcanic islands and five islets in two groups.

The islands are generally rocky, with stunning mountain scenery and beautiful beaches. Diving and wind-surfing are popular activities.

The capital, Cidade de Praia, is situated on the island of Sao Tiago.
