CONGO is situated on the West coast of Central Africa, with an Atlantic Ocean coastal plain, behind which rise the Mayombe Mountains. Most of the country is swamps, grassland, or thick forest.

The capital, Brazzaville, lies in the East, on the river Congo, and houses the Basilique St Anne, the Temple Mosque, and the National Museum.

the town of Pointe-Noire lies on the coast, with several good beaches nearby.

An equatorial climate, with the dry season from June to September.
