CROATIA is situated in South-eastern Europe, and is bordered by Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia-Herzegovina, with the Adriatic along the long West Coast, featuring the ports of Rijeka, Pula, Split, and Dubrovnik. There are many islands and islets scattered along this beautiful coast.

Pula, (dating from the 5th century BC), has a Roman Amphitheatre, and Split, (dating from the 4th cent. BC), has a walled ‘old quarter’, and an enormous Palace.

Dubrovnik is a beautiful city, with its medieval walls and palaces.

The capital, Zagreb, lies in the North, on the River Sava, and has many good museums, the Maksimir Public Park, and the Cathedrals of St. Mary and St. Stephen.

The climate is varied. Continental in the North, and Mediterranean on the Adriatic Coast .
