THE CZECH REPUBLIC is a land-locked country lying in Central Europe, and is bordered by Germany, Poland, the Slovak Republic, and Austria. It has a hilly landscape, with picturesque valleys and lakes, and historic towns and castles.

The capital, Prague, lies on the Vitava River, and is one of the loveliest cities in Europe. There are many historical attractions, including the medieval Charles Bridge, the magnificent castle and cathedral, the Town hall, (in the Old Town Square), and Wenceslas Square.

The summers are mild; the winters cold.
