DOMINICA is the largest of the Windward Islands, with Martinique to the South, and Guadeloupe to the North. It is mountainous with volcanic peaks, dense forests, lakes, geysers, and waterfalls.

Although there are a few white sandy beaches on the Northwest of the island, most of Dominica's beaches are of black volcanic sand.
Roseau, on the Southwest coast, attracts the most visitors, and Safari tours can be arranged from this area.

The climate is hot and sub-tropical throughout the year. The rainy season is from June to October.
