GABON is situated on the West coast of Central Africa, with an Atlantic Ocean coastline of bays, lagoons, and estuaries. Most of the country has lush, tropical vegetation.

The capital, Libreville, lies on the coast, in the North, and houses the National Museum, the Cathedral, the market and the harbour.

Other places to visit include Port Gentil, Cape Esterias, Mayumba, M’Bigou, Eteke, and Lambarene (the town made famous by Dr Albert Schweitzer.

Gabon has two National Parks, Wonga-Wongue, and Moukalaba.

An equatorial climate, with the rainy season from October to May.
